Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy, commonly referred to as PT, is a healthcare profession focused on helping individuals restore and improve movement and function, manage pain, and prevent disability. Physical therapists, or PTs, work with patients of all ages and abilities who have injuries, illnesses, or disabilities that affect their ability to move and perform daily activities. They assess patients' physical abilities, develop personalized treatment plans, and utilize various therapeutic techniques and exercises to address musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and other conditions.
Physical therapists may employ modalities such as exercise therapy, manual therapy, aquatic therapy, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound to promote healing and improve mobility. They also provide education and guidance on proper body mechanics, posture, and home exercises to empower patients in managing their conditions independently. Through compassionate care and evidence-based interventions, physical therapists aim to optimize their patients' physical function, reduce pain, and enhance their overall quality of life.
